Vincent Lièvre Picard

Tenor

He studied at the Conservatories of Tours and Paris, then at the Conservatoire Supérieur. He obtained distinctions in these three institutions in Lyric Song (First Prize unanimously) and in Early Music (Superior Diploma with congratulations from the jury). He was taught there by Noémi Rime and Howard Crook for early music, and by Ana Maria Miranda and Anne-Marie Rodde for opera singing. He studied for several years with Udo Reinemann, and is currently advised by François-Nicolas Geslot and Alain Buet.

In opera he performs works by Charpentier, Rameau, Haydn and Carl Orff - the title role in Charpentier's Actéon at the Théâtre de Bordeaux, the title role in Rameau's Zoroastre in Marseille, Cecco (Il Mondo della Luna, Haydn) in Angers and the Erzähler (Der Mond, Orff) at the Opéra National de Paris Bastille. He sang Tamino (Die Zauberflöte) in Toulon, and the Valets in Les Contes d'Hoffmann in Grenoble. Among his projects: Arnalta in The Coronation of Poppea (Monteverdi) under the direction of René Jacobs. In autumn 2014 he will take part in the premiere of Le Petit Prince, the new opera by Michaël Lévinas, in which he will sing the role of L'Aviateur in Lausanne, Lille, Geneva and then at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris; he will then take part in the premiere of Wilde, by Hector Parra, in May 2015, as part of the Schwetzingen Festival.

In concert, his Evangelists of the Bach Passions have gained international recognition under the guidance of Michel Corboz; he also frequently performs works from the French Baroque repertoire, where he shines with his easy treble and his knowledge of the style in the "haute-contre à la française" parts, and oratorios by Mozart, Haydn, Berlioz, Dvorak, Rachmaninov and Britten.

Vincent Lièvre-Picard has performed under the direction of Benjamin Alard, Jean-Marc Andrieu, Christophe Coin, Michel Corboz, Jean-Christophe Frisch, Sébastien d'Hérin, Françoise Lasserre, Jean-Claude Malgoire and Guy van Waas, and in recital with Aline Zylberajch and Emmanuel Olivier.

Several discographic releases are planned, which will complete an already rich discography of more than thirty titles, several of which have received important distinctions (Diapason d'Or, Choc du Monde de la Musique, Prix Massenet for the best complete French Opera, disc of the month of the English magazine Goldberg...).
